Lantern Sconce Lighting Install on a Brick Home in Shakopee image

This brick home in Shakopee, MN had great bones - solid architecture, clean trim work, and a beautiful wood entry door. What it was missing was lighting that actually matched the character of the house. A bare or builder-grade fixture on a home like this just looks out of place.

We installed a pair of classic lantern-style wall sconces flanking the front entry. The style fits the traditional brick exterior perfectly - the dark metal finish and clear glass panels feel intentional, like they were always supposed to be there. That's exactly what good exterior lighting should do.

Beyond looks, these fixtures pull double duty. Flanking sconces on either side of a door are one of the most effective ways to light an entryway - you get even coverage without harsh shadows. That matters for both everyday use and security. A well-lit entry is a simple, effective deterrent.

Exterior lighting is one of those upgrades that changes how a home reads from the street. The right fixture in the right spot adds visual balance and makes the whole front of the house look more finished. It's a small change with a noticeable result.

If your entryway feels like it's missing something, it might just be the right light. We work on homes across the Shakopee area and love tackling jobs where good design and solid electrical work go hand in hand.
