This one was a fun challenge. A homeowner in Hopkins had a brand new Harvia barrel sauna sitting in the backyard - beautiful cedar unit, ready to go. The only thing it needed was power. That meant running a dedicated circuit all the way from the panel, through the home, and out to the backyard. Not exactly a straight shot.
Fishing wire through an existing home takes patience. You're working around insulation, framing, and finished walls - and you have to do it without tearing everything apart. We mapped out the cleanest path possible and got it done without leaving a mess behind.
On the exterior, we ran rigid conduit straight down the side of the house to a weatherproof box. Clean, tight, and built to handle whatever a Minnesota winter throws at it. The conduit is secured properly and runs in a straight line - no sloppy bends or shortcuts.
Inside the sauna, the Harvia heater is wired in and ready. The built-in accent lights are live too. Everything is connected clean and sized correctly for the heater's electrical demands. A sauna heater pulls serious amperage, and getting that circuit right isn't something you want to guess on.
Outdoor sauna wiring is one of those jobs that looks simple but has a lot going on under the surface. Dedicated circuits, weatherproof components, proper wire sizing - it all matters. We do this kind of work regularly, and we don't cut corners on any of it.
